A Message from DG Loretta Butts

Dear Rotary Family and Friends,

 

It seems this year has flown by with all the wonderful projects and celebrations going on around our great District as you definitely lit up Rotary.

 

John and I have thoroughly enjoyed our time with you at club meetings, visiting your project sites and partying with you at fellowship events. We were constantly impressed by the generosity and kindness we were shown at each visit.

 

You have had a terrific District staff out there this year supporting your efforts and the results of your efforts have been outstanding. Our membership is up, we contributed significant amounts to The Rotary Foundation and, especially, to the effort to eradicate polio. Our District immediately rose to the aid of victims of the Nepal earthquake by providing desperately needed shelter through our longtime partner ShelterBox.

 

Wherever there was a need, our members stepped up to fill it. Rotary is so much stronger today because of your service and because of that we will continue to be the greatest humanitarian organization the world has ever seen.

 

It has been an honor to represent you as your District Governor and I will cherish these memories for the remainder of my life.

 

My plans going forward are to work within our organization to create a more peaceful world and I look forward to having some of you working right beside me.
