Congratulations! Brenda Cressey named TRF Trustee!
Brenda Cressey is currently serving in her third year as the Rotary International Zone 26 Endowment/Major Gift Adviser for The Rotary Foundation (TRF) and has been named TRF Trustee 2017-2021.
 
 
 
Since serving as Governor in 2001-02, most of her Rotary assignments have focused on successful Fund Development for TRF specifically in the areas of Polio Eradication, EREY, PHS and Endowments and Major Gifts.  She enjoyed successful outcomes when serving in a number of TRF positions including: Regional Rotary Foundation Coordinator and Moderator and Assistant Moderator for two RRFC Institutes including the Future Vision Transition Institute held in San Diego. She is also a Rotary Alumni having personally participated in a number of Foundation Projects around the world and has seen firsthand how gifts to TRF greatly impact the lives of others.  She is a proud member of the Paul Harris Society, a member of the Bequest Society and Major Donor.
 
When asked what the highlights in her life might be she will not hesitate to say it all began when first invited to join Rotary 1989.  She continues to share how her membership and gifts to The Rotary Foundation have changed her life and the lives of many who she will never know.  She is the recipient of the RI “Service Above Self Award” and TRF’s “Citation for Meritorious Service”.  Brenda was extremely honored to be nominated as one of President George H.W. Bush’s “1000 Points of Light” recognizing those individuals who are making a difference through their volunteer service. Additionally, she was recognized by the Maine Public Broadcasting systems “Jefferson Award for Meritorious Service” as well as the “State of Maine Governor Award for Community Service”. 
Retired from New England Telephone in 1986 she began her own telecommunications business In Maine and remains CEO.  Much of her professional career included skills in management, sales and serving as the lead project manager for large projects such as setting up Phone Stores in Maine for New England Telephone and the creation of her own telecommunications business, the later, in conjunction with the many changes in telephony and technology at that time. 
 
In 1995, when moving to California, she accepted a rewarding volunteer position with the American Cancer Society as the Unit Manager with the new start up of a local office to support cancer patients.  She was responsible for setting up the office and volunteer systems, working with the local medical community, public speaking and volunteer training.  She was a two time recipient of the American Cancer Society Volunteer of the Year Award.
 
Brenda is a member of the RC of Paso Robles and has been a proud Rotarian for 26 years.  She currently resides in Templeton, California with her husband Richard, who is recently retired as a Vice President from a long career in manufacturing.  They both enjoy spending time with their dog Casey, the outdoors and travel.
