On October 23, Rotary will kick off World Polio Day celebrations with a special event that will shine a light on Rotary's leadership in the fight to end polio.

The End Polio Now: Make History Today event, live-streamed from New York City, will provide a global update on the status of polio eradication from experts in the Global Polio Eradication Initiative, and will feature performances and appearances by celebrity ambassadors and other notables.

Time magazine Senior Editor Jeffrey Kluger is our moderator, and UNICEF Executive Director Anthony Lake is a keynote speaker.

Watch the live program at endpolio.org on Friday, October 23 at 6:30pm Eastern Time and take part in the conversation using #endpolio.

If you can't join then, you can still be a part of this moment in history. A recording of the event will be available immediately following the broadcast. Use it to update your government representatives, or show it as a part of your local World Polio Day celebration or club meeting program.

Now that Nigeria has stopped polio, we are one step closer to a polio-free world. But our fight isn't over. There's still work to be done in Afghanistan and Pakistan, the two remaining polio-endemic countries. Donate today and your donation will be matched 2-to-1 by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

With your help, we are "this much closer" to ending polio.
