Kenneth J. Fay, Charter Member and the first full-term president of the Rotary Club of Ojai-West, peacefully slipped into God’s arms in Ojai, California on Sunday, April 26, 2015. He was 83.
Ken and his wife Louanne, an Honorary Member of Ojai-West Rotary, are recognized as Level Four Major Donors to the Rotary Foundation.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to an Ojai-based nonprofit organization that you believe Ken would appreciate. A funeral service will be held for Kenneth at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Ojai on Saturday, May 9, at 10 a.m., with a reception to follow in the parish hall.

Ken graduated from Ventura High School in 1950, was active in student leadership, and played for their undefeated CIF Championship basketball team. Upon graduation from Santa Clara University in 1954, Ken proudly served as an officer in the U.S. Army and Army Reserve.
Prior to selling the family’s Ojai Lumber business, Ken had founded Aqua-Flo Supply in 1968 and, together with brother Harold, led the company through 25 years of growth before passing the reins to his children.
Ken was a natural leader. His unassuming and friendly disposition together with his sense of humor made him very well liked, while his keen intellect, savvy, and strong faith gave him perspective.
In addition to his business success, he was a civic leader in Ojai where he served as president of the Chamber of Commerce, held committee positions at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Parish and helped lay the foundation of a strong Rotary Club of Ojai-West as its first full-term president.
An accomplished end engaging public speaker, Ken served as emcee for many community events. Through all of this, Ken was widely known as a gentleman and a gentle man.
Ken’s crowning achievement, however, was falling in love with and marrying Louanne. From the day they met in July of 1958, to their wedding that same year, through 57 years of marital bliss, Ken and Louanne’s story is of true love and a wonderful family: five children and their spouses; 17 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
