The Rotary International Council on Legislation of 2016 gave Rotary Clubs the opportunity to define membership qualification and standing, attendance and meeting times that meet the needs of their current members, future members and local community.
In response, Rotary Clubs in District 5240 have developed innovative and creative practices for attracting and retaining members.  This webpage has been created to enable Rotary Clubs in District 5240 to exchange best membership practices.
  • Clubs have changed the number of formal meetings a month and replacing them with socials or projects
  • Clubs have offered corporate memberships that enable outreach to local businesses and retains members who might otherwise not have the time to continue being active Rotarians
  • Clubs have offered family memberships that enable partners or other family members to participate in Rotary at a reduced cost to the family
  • Clubs have changed meeting times or added meeting times to be more convenient to a portion of their membership and to attract new members
  • Clubs have developed their elevator speech to focus on the difference that Rotary makes in the community and in creating a more peaceful world
  • Club members carry cards inviting prospective members to their Rotary club to meet the people and learn more about Rotary
The ideas are endless
