Loretta Butts, Past District Governor 2014-2015
Rotary Club of Atascadero
Loretta Butts is the immediate Past District Governor for District 5240 serving from 2014-2015.
She is a Registered Principal and independent financial advisor. 
Since moving to the Central Coast in 1989 from the San Francisco Bay area, she has served as the Chair of the San Luis Obispo County Commission on the Status of Women, on the Board of Directors of the North County Women’s Shelter and Life Span Services and Chair of the program advisory committee for the EOC Adult Day Care program in Templeton, CA.
Loretta joined the Rotary Club of Atascadero in 1994 and since then has served on the club’s boards as Treasurer and Rotary International Foundation chair.  In 2001 she was instrumental in the charter of the Rotary Club of Templeton and served as its Charter President from 2001-2003.  In 2005, she returned to her home club in Atascadero.
Loretta has seen the impact of Rotary by attending Rotary International Conventions in Barcelona, Los Angles, Lisbon, Sydney and most recently Sao Paulo, Brazil. 
She has seen Rotary’s direct impact during her travels to Nigeria to assist in the goal of eradicating polio while identifying the need for other Rotary sponsored programs and services. Loretta has also traveled to Uganda representing District 5240 Rotarians responsible for a significant grant to provide furnishings and supplies for a medical clinic and living facilities for staff in a remote village outside of Lira.
Prior to her selection as an incoming District Governor, Loretta served the District as International Service Chair, STEPS Chair, Assistant Governor, GSE Group Coordinator, district Paul Harris Society and Annual Giving advisor as well as advisor to the Grants Committee and member of the Future Vision Planning Committee.
She has had the honor of being selected Rotarian of the Year while also being a multiple Paul Harris Fellow, a Benefactor and a member of the Paul Harris Society.  Her husband, John, is also a Paul Harris Fellow as are other members of her family. 
As a seventh generation Californian, Loretta has deep roots in the land of the District. She has 3 grown children and 10 grandchildren.
Mary Lingua
Rotary Club of Oxnard Sunrise
Mary has been a Rotarian since 1999.  She was an Assistant Governor for Group 6, a Club Past President 2012-2013, Youth Services Chair,  Club Grants Committee and participated on an NID.  She is currently Rotary District 5240 PRLS Curriculum Chair.  Mary is a member of the Habitat for Humanity Ventura County Fund Development Committee. She teaches Master PRLS Situational Leadership, Facilitation and  Business Planning & Project Management.
Professionally Mary promoted effective and efficient facilities and energy conservation technologies for the Navy. Recently retiring from a distinguished Navy Civil Service Career, leading programs that have reduced the energy   and carbon footprint of Navy Shore Facilities. She now uses this expertise towards Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM) programs both locally and globally.  
Mary has several college degrees from the University of Southern California Master of Science Systems Management MSSM , Masters of Science Environmental Engineering, Bachelors of Science. She a graduate of the University of California at Santa Barbara Mediation and Dispute Resolution Program. She is a graduate of the Navy’s Leadership Development  Program and  Defense Acquisition University Facilities Engineering Career Field.
Mary is a recipient of two Meritorious Civilian Service Awards. She is a Paul Harris Fellow. Mary and her husband Tracy are residents of Somis as are two of three children and two grandchildren. 
She is currently spending her time learning how not to be a NERD exploring, camping, bicycling, home repair, gardening, grand parenting and community service.

A Rotarian since 1999, Kendra has most recently served as STEPS (District 5240 Steps to Eliminate Poverty Sustainably conference) chair 2013 and co-chair for 2015 & 2017.  In 2010/2011, she served as Group Representative (now called Assistant Governor) for Group 10, under District Governor, Deepa Willingham.
Kendra served as club president for Rotary Club of Arroyo Grande in 2008/2009, and has served several years as the club’s international chair.  She has traveled several times to participate in joint projects with Arroyo Grande’s sister club in Hermosillo, Mexico. 
Kendra has recently retired from a career as a Certified Financial Planner® professional with the regional independent wealth management firm, Blakeslee & Blakeslee in San Luis Obispo. 
Education includes a BS in Agricultural Business from Cal Poly (California Polytechnic State University, SLO), and an MS in Agriculture (Education) from Cal Poly.  Later she completed the CFP Certification Coursework with College for Financial Planning in Colorado.
Kendra, a multiple Paul Harris Fellow, & her husband Jim live in Nipomo, and have a grown son & two granddaughters.   These days she may be found working on various home improvement projects, rental projects, riding & caring for her horses, gardening, bicycling, grand parenting, traveling, and of course – working on the next STEPS conference.

Personal & Business Affiliations 
Born in Singapore, Sherry immigrated to the U.S.A. in 1988. Formerly a marketing manager with the Singapore Tourism Board in Los Angeles, she relocated to the Central Coast in 2002, and has lived in Cayucos for over 13 years. She currently owns and operates her own real estate brokerage, Sims & Company in Cayucos.  Sherry was a member of Rotary Club of Morro Bay between 2005-2008, before being asked to establish Cayucos Rotary.  Sherry was named 'REALTOR of the YEAR 2010", and had presided and held various positions at the local REALTOR association. She is currently the state Region Chair 31 for six REALTOR associations in San Luis Obispo & north Santa Barbara counties. Sherry also helped to start the community radio, 97.3 The Rock in Estero Bay, and been a director of the Cayucos Chamber since 2013.
