On Saturday, January 31, the Rotary Club of Carpinteria—working alongside Carpinteria Beautiful and a dedicated group of parents from the Carpinteria Children’s Project—came together for a half-day, hands-on service event at the Carpinteria Children's Project site. Volunteers rolled up their sleeves to clean, landscape, hang signs, build, and beautify one of Carpinteria’s most cherished community spaces. Just as important as the work itself were the connections made along the way. Through collaboration, new friendships formed, fresh ideas surfaced, and a shared sense of purpose took hold.
We worked hard. We laughed often. And by noon, we were proud to have checked off most of the items on the Carpinteria Children’s Project “to-do” list.
It was a reminder of what can happen when neighbors come together in service—news worth sharing.
