At our BBRC, peacebuilding isn’t just a global ideal — it’s something we practice right here at home. Through hands‑on service, youth support, and community partnerships, we work to create a safer, kinder, more connected world.
Strengthening Our Community - This year, our members rolled up their sleeves for the San Miguel Grove Cleanup, restoring a beloved local space and creating a healthier, more welcoming environment for everyone. Projects like this reduce stressors in our community and foster shared pride — both essential ingredients for peace.
Supporting Neighbors and Youth with Food, School Supplies, Shoes - We continued our tradition of shoe shopping for students at the Rafer Johnson School SEAL Center. We also teamed with local partners to provide pancake breakfasts and Thanksgiving baskets, and backpacks filled with school supplies. When people feel supported and valued, the entire community becomes more resilient and peaceful.
Honoring Service and Unity - Our club once again will lead Thousand Flags, a powerful display honoring veterans and first responders. This event brings people together across backgrounds to reflect, remember, and celebrate the values that hold communities together — gratitude, service, and unity.
Living Rotary’s Values - Whether we’re cleaning up a park, celebrating children, donating to eradicate Polio, or honoring heroes, every project reflects Rotary’s commitment to goodwill, understanding, and the Four‑Way Test. Peace grows through small, consistent acts of service — and our club is proud to help plant those seeds every day.
