District 5240 has no shortage of outstanding Rotarians whose service to humanity can serve as an inspiration to all of us.
This Rotary year, we plan on recognizing and sharing their inspirational journey.
Each of the 12 Groups in the District has been assigned one month in the Rotary 2019-20 year for the Assistant Governor and Presidents to select one Rotarian of Action in their Group.
For the month of March the Rotary Clubs selected as their Rotarian of Action to be Blake Goehring, Shafter Rotary Club.
In recognition of “doing good in the world”, Blake will be presented with a Paul Harris Fellow Recognition.

Blake enjoys serving the Rotary Club of Shafter. He has served many
different positions over the years, highlights include: youth service
chair, service chair, and social chair. His passions include RYLA and
serving his local community.
Blake is a Senior Vice President and Wealth Management Advisor with
Merrill Lynch in Bakersfield since 2006. For the last three years, Forbes
has recognized him as one of the top “Next-Generation of Wealth
Advisors”
Blake is the District Activist Leader for the National MS Society serving
Central California. He was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2015
and has been actively involved in advocating for the MS Society on the
local, state and federal levels.
Blake is married to Heather and is a father of four (Julia 13, Sammy 12,
Anna 4, Teddy 1). He enjoys bicycling, running, traveling, and being a
Shafter Rotarian.
