Club Service -- Dragonboat Paddle with club members in September 2025. The Rotary Club of Morro Bay spends a few Tuesdays a year exploring Morro Bay and going on fun excursions together to have fun, fellowship, and explore. We had the opportunity to go out together on the bay near sunset in a dragonboat and do synchronized paddling. We even did a competition to see which group can paddle fastest. It was our best excursion and taught us how to work as a team.

Community/Environmental Service: A small but mighty group picked up trash on the Embarcadero in July 2025. We had fun and worked to keep trash out of the bay.

Vocational Service: The club gathered funds and put together gift baskets for school staff at both local schools, our elementary and high school in August 2025. When we dropped off the goodies (snacks, chocolates, etc.) the principal lit up and was so happy to have the Rotary club helping get the school year off to the right start.

Youth Service (20260416_071625.jpg): Our club sponsored 4 students to attend RYLA and our alternates got to go as well. It was a great year for RYLA and the students who went were appreciative and inspired by their experiences. Our club works together with Los Osos and Cayucos Rotary throughout the process since we share a high school, so we do each part of the process together. Here are most of the students who attended from Morro Bay High School, minus two who showed up 45 minutes late. We got them all there though.

Membership: Inducting 1 new member this year, Jocelyn who was excited to join, being the daughter of a former member.

The Rotary Foundation (IMG_0792 (1).jpeg): Our program with Wade Nomura on the Rotary Foundation this year was excellent! We are lucky to have him in our district and we learned a lot.

Peacebuilding (IMG_1041.jpg): One of our peacebuilding projects we did was gathering and donating warm clothing and other attire for our unhoused population which we were able to donate at a local non-profit event.
