More than 1,000 middle school students from San Luis Obispo County gathered at SLO High School on May 2 for the 2026 Rotary de Tolosa Teen Track meet, a club tradition going on 40 years.
Hosted annually by the Rotary Club of San Luis Obispo de Tolosa, Teen Track began in 1985 as the county’s only middle school track and field meet. Today, it continues to provide local students with an opportunity to compete, build confidence, and experience the excitement of athletics in a positive and supportive environment.
Students participated in a full day of track and field events, including relays, sprints, distance races, and field competitions, cheered on by coaches, families, volunteers, and classmates. Beyond the competition, the event highlights sportsmanship, perseverance, and community connection.
Teen Track is made possible through the efforts of Rotary de Tolosa members, community volunteers, school staff, and generous local sponsors including Wilde Wealth Management, DIgnified Hope Care, San Luis Ambulance, Gymnazo, Nautical Bean, Ambiance and The Sign Place. Sponsor support helps provide athlete bibs, event timing and software, ribbons and awards, and the many logistics needed to host an event of this scale.
For Rotary de Tolosa, Teen Track is more than a sporting event. It is a longstanding investment in local youth and an opportunity to bring students from communities across the county together through healthy competition and encouragement.
As the event celebrates 40 years, Rotary de Tolosa remains committed to supporting programs that inspire and empower the next generation.
