For Club Service, our Club prioritizes member engagement and FUN! We seek unique ways to involve members in our programs. During Saurabh’s first presidency, the COVID year 20/21, while we were meeting on zoom, he added a Member joke contest to add some levity and creativity to the meeting. Each week members tried to best the sitting joke champion.
In 2023, Our Club Service Director brought back this COVID tradition - Comedy Hour with Saurabh, an in-person member joke contest with prizes during one of our Club meetings.
Comedy Hour with Saurabh was such a hit with members that Saurabh brought the beloved program back this Rotary year. Members walked into the room to find “Cheesy” jokes at their place setting to set the tone. Saurabh entertained members with a few jokes and then 10 members got up and told their own. Winners were chosen by audience participation.
There was much laughter and camaraderie- even some calls for Comedy Hour with Saurabh- the nighttime edition. Having fun together, enjoying each other’s company is another way that brings us closer together so we can better serve our community.
